On September 30th, BlueBRIDGE organized a session on “Virtual Research Environments for the Open Science Cloud” at the Digital Infrastructures for Research conference in Krakow, Poland. Approximately 50 participants were in attendance.
The session covered the ways in which innovative working environments can effectively support the daily work of researchers, industry (including SMEs) and international organisations, and how the Virtual Research Environments can play a role in the European Open Science Cloud landscape envisaged by the April 2016 Communication released by the European Commission. The outcomes of the session were summarised in a post event report including a set of recommendations for the different communities and end users to shape the future Open Science Cloud Initiative.
