The Open Science FAIR conference, 6-8 September 2017, Athens, hosts the second edition of the How FAIR friendly is your data catalogue? workshop. The first workshop was organised by BlueBRIDGE on 3 April 2017 in Barcelona co-located with the RDA Plenary Meeting. Here you can find the workshop post event report: download here. All the participants believed that the workshop was very productive as it opened a constructive dialogue between different initiatives and countries. Such dialogue is fundamental to achieve consensus on a common vision on FAIR. This is why, some of the organisers and attendees participating in the EOSCpilot project, have therefore decided to organise the follow-up of the BlueBRIDGE Barcelona workshop within the Open Science Fair conference.

Donatella Castelli, Research Director at CNR-ISTI (Italy) & BlueBRIDGE Project Coordinator, will contribute to the Athens workshop giving a sneak preview of the BlueBRIDGE catalogue.

About the workshop:

The workshop will investigate common mechanisms for interoperation of data catalogues that preserve established community standards, norms and resources, while simplifying the process of being/becoming FAIR. Can we have a simple interoperability architecture based on a common set of metadata types? What are the minimum metadata requirements to expose FAIR data to EOSC services and EOSC users?
