Blue Growth is the long term strategy to support sustainable growth in the marine and maritime sectors as a whole. Seas and oceans are drivers for the European economy and have great potential for innovation and growth. Blue Growth has significant data needs that are only partially met, and BlueBRIDGE’s innovative technologies aimed to solve some pressing data needs.

BlueBRIDGE specialised data services come in Virtual Research Environments built on top of a hybrid-data infrastructure. They are designed to re-use and share computational and storage resources of the existing European e-infrastructures. This approach allows BlueBRIDGE to deliver powerful services in a cost-effective way. Today users from academia to industry, from public organisation to RFMOs, can use BlueBRIDGE data services.

In this workshop we invite BlueBRIDGE experts to explain the products and services delivered in specific domains. We also invite domain representatives to explain their approach to ‘big data’. Each presentation is followed by an interactive discussion on the BlueBRIDGE solutions, highlighting the opportunities for future exploitation. We conclude the meeting with a discussion on the overall efforts in the capacity building and educational sector to benefit from increasingly on-line tools and services.

The workshop introduce a selection of BlueBRIDGE data services with the goal to propose these to future adopters and to inventory interest for further collaboration with private and public stakeholders.
