A new suite of three algorithms, implementing a Supervised Machine Learning Workflow based on Feed Forward Neural Networks, is now available for the BlueBRIDGE VREs


A new suite of three algorithms, implementing a Supervised Machine Learning Workflow based on Feed Forward Neural Networks, is now available. It can be used for general Classification and Regression tasks as well as correlation studies and biological simulations requiring some kind of information extraction from labelled data.  
The three algorithms are briefly described below:

New BlueBRIDGE VRE supporting a scientific training on Stock Assessment


BlueBRIDGE recently developed a Virtual Research Environment (VRE) supporting a scientific training on Stock Assessment. This VRE will be used for the ICES Advanced Stock Assessment Training Course, which will be held from Monday, 28 November, to Friday, 2 December, 2016.

Revamp of D4Science infrastructure increases BlueBRIDGE’s capabilities


An enhanced version of D4Science.org, the infrastructure behind BlueBRIDGE VREs, was released at the end of July 2016. This change improves the project’s capabilities.

Analysing and forecasting fisheries time series


By utilizing tuna fisheries data in the Indian Ocean, the authors propose a method to forecast fisheries time series. In comparing this method to others, they demonstrate that it is able to highlight periodic patterns in a high fishing activity area such as the Indian Ocean.
